Belotero®
Dermal fillers are a modified form of hyaluronic acid that when injected can restore volume and shape to the facial structures, help decrease the appearance of lines and add hydration and shape to lips.
Lip Design – We use the Belotero® line of fillers to help design soft, hydrated lips that move naturally. Perioral fine lines and drooping corners of mouth can be camouflaged with strategically placed filler to achieve a refreshed, youthful appearance.
Aftercare Instructions for Dermal Fillers (Belotero, Profhilo Structura)
Thank you for attending Dermal Glow for Dermal Filler Injections. Please take the time to carefully read your post-treatment instructions below.
POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
- Avoid any heat-inducing activities for 24 hours.
- Do not perform strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
- Do not massage the treatment area unless instructed to do so.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.
- Avoid active cosmeceutical products (AHAs, retinol, vitamin C) for 24 hours.
- Do not apply oil-based makeup for 24 hours. Mineral based makeup can be applied with a clean and light application technique.
- Avoid pressure on the area for 14 days (i.e. avoid face-down massages).
- Avoid Dental Procedures for 14 days before or after treatment
- Avoid facials, facial waxing, skin peels, laser treatments, dermal needling or other invasive procedures for at least 14 days after treatment.
- Should you feel or see any lumps in the treated area after the swelling has subsided (48 hours or more), it is recommended that you gently massage the area carefully with clean fingers.
What to expect
The listed below are all normal side effects and should self resolve within a few days.
- Swelling
- Bruising
- Redness
- Tenderness
More severe complications may include:
- Pain out of proportion to the expected post treatment discomfort
- Severe swelling
- Possible allergic reaction
- Blanching or whitening of the skin
- Visual disturbances
- Other extremely rare complications could occur and no form can include all possible side effects or complications.
If you experience any of the above severe complications please contact Dermal Glow during normal business hours. If symptoms are severe or it is outside of usual office hours, please contact your GP or go to the Emergency Department.
BELOTERO® is a Class III medical device to smooth facial wrinkles and folds, correct facial atrophic scars, restore of enhance the lips or restore facial volume. Belotero® has risk and benefits. Ask your specialist if Belotero® is right for you. Contains transparent cross-linked sodium hyaluronate gel of non-animal origin with lidocaine 0.3% to reduce local pain. Do not use if you have a skin inflammation or a skin infection or until the infection is healed. Precautions. There is a risk of infection. Tell your doctor if you are on blood-clotting medicines as there could be an increased risk of bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Possible side effects: swelling, bruising, redness hardening of the skin, pain, altered colour or itching. Lasts 6-12 months. You will need to pay for this product and doctor’s fees apply.
